A Somewhat Anti-Climactic Ending

So there goes the Seventh Semester and 3 and a half years of uni life. Couldn't help but feel it was a bit anti-climax. I celebrated this particular milestone by reloading my touch n go card, refilling the car with petrol, getting cat food for MJ and giving my hair some much needed attention with a trip to my favourite hair salon. And then I went home for a nice long nap.

Was going to go home tomorrow but decided to stay an extra day since there's no one at home and my parents are off honeymooning, again. They deserve it though after so many years of raising us troublesome kiddies.

Anyways have been wanting to post about my recent shopping spree. I don't think I have ever spent so recklessly yet in my life so far.

So I got up at 6am last Friday as I decided it was no use sleeping anymore as I was way too excited. Went over my notes again for my Theriogenology paper at 8.30am, and got ready my cloth bags and made sure I had enough money in my wallet.

At 10.30am, my two companions and I hopped straight into the car and set off for South City Plaza. For today was the day of the sale I had been waiting for for a month and had so eagerly anticipated that I even had a dream about it. Lol. I guess I really am a book nerd. But the Big Bad Wolf Sale is no joke. It is the most Wonderful Sale in The World.

We got there around 10.50am and the place was packed. My juniors who had been there when it opened said the the line to go in stretched the whole length of the South City Plaza. Each of us grabbed an empty box and proceeded into the throng. After about 15 minutes I completely gave up on the box as I kept banging into people with it and couldn't get around at all, so I stuffed the books into the bags I had brought and continued on the book hunt.

I guess it was like an hour or two later before I finally looked up again. There was a crick in my neck from staring down at books and my shoulders were sore from the amount of books I was carrying around in my bags and I was a bit dizzy from looking at hundreds of titles of books.

That was seriously some of the best fun I've had for a long time. Spent about 4 and a half hours there and the total damage was RM 266 for 30+ books.

Couldn't resist, had to go back again the next day. Total damage: RM 144 for 17 books.

On the 2nd last and last day, went back to see what was left. There was a Fire Sale as expected on the last day, with everything going for RM5. Thank god my brother was paying though.

Annndd All Together Now:

My cat checking out my books.

It was funny how that every time I went to the sale, I would meet at least a few of my fellow coursemates. A lot of 3rd year juniors seemed to be there like, all the time. I hadn't realised that there were so many book nerds in the faculty. It feels good to buy books though. It's one of those very justifiable expenses. It feels even better when you buy good books at 1/5th or less of the usual price.

It was also funny how the Big Bad Wolf was dominating the facebook status of almost everyone in the vet faculty for those few days, and how everyone was so giddy with book love. We even set up a facebook book exchange group called The Voracious Vet Villain's Book Corner where we post up photos of our books so we know who has what and so we can borrow each others books. 44 members and 282 books in the virtual library so far. You know, I always wanted to be a librarian:)

Off to do a bit of reading before bed!
