Study Week!

First time we've had a study week since I've been here. I must say, this is pretty nice.

So first semester of 4th year is over and finally (finally!) got to see what all the hoo haa in the small animal wards was all about. Apart from being really tiring (even though we just get up one hour earlier, it makes you so very tired somehow! ) and having excuses to sleep very early every night and not do so well in your tests:P, it was really quite fun. Lots of stuff to do, lots of animals to play with, and learnt a lot in my month of the small animals. Got scratched and bitten, met and took care of some really nice patients, and generally had a blast with my rota group. Was blessed to get such a nice rota group this year (Group 8 - Juwai, Fil, Azeem and Zul, you guys rock!). Memorably we even won for orientation on the first day and kena belanja by the people who brought the digital radiography machines on the last day.

I am in a good place right now. Feeling happy and genuinely interested in my studies, I somehow don't feel stressed out about finals. Everyone else seems to be. But I've had enough of stressing about how I measure up and the things I don't know. If I don't know it, then fine, I'll learn it today and thats another extra thing I've learnt. If I do badly in my tests, fine, I'll go and see what I couldn't answer and look it up. One bit of knowledge at a time. Life is really too short to spend it in misery and making yourself sick with stress. The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven.

Really excited about the Big Bad Wolf sale next week! 11 more days to go. Still trying to figure out what is an appropriate budget after that shopping spree at Book Xcess the other day. Sigh, I really love reading. Sometimes I think to myself, all it would take to make me happy is good food, good books and good company. What more would I ask for?

Been absorbed reading up on cardiology this weekend. Its such an interesting subject! Too bad we don't do much electrocardiography and echocardiography here. I think there is a huge chiasm for veterinary specialists of all fields here in Malaysia.

Should get back to the books. I mean the academic kind of course.
